Nene, as she was fondly called, spent her childhood in her home town of Cabuyao, Laguna, Philippines. She received her Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education at the University of Santo Tomas, Philippines. She was a teacher and a business woman in the food industry.

In 1954, she married Romeo Acuna. She lovingly raised ten children - Teresa Zita, Samuel, Arlene, Agnes, Antonio, Arturo, Norberto, Nazareno (deceased), Joseph, and Joanne. She loved her fifteen grandchildren - Darwin, Rommel, Jag, Candy, Kate, Anna, Eric, Allen, Shiela, Bianca, Christine, Antonio Jr., Ace, Kristopher, Yuna and her seven great-grandchildren - Corbin, Axel, Andrew, Yesha, Zeth, Carl, and Yuan. Her dream was always to have a big loving family.

Rosario immigrated to the United States in 1988 and lived in New York, California, and Nevada. Rosario loved good food and she shared this passion with her children. She loved playing the piano, watching her favorite soaps, and using her Ipad to connect with her children and she was always on the phone daily to check in on all of them.

She will be remembered as a loving and caring mother, sister, and Lola. She instilled in our hearts the value of family and love for each other. She will be our guiding light, the butterfly in our garden, the angel whispering in our ears, and the words we wish to hear from her every day. She will be missed, but she will be in our hearts till we meet her again.

Our family is requesting prayers for the repose of her soul.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 11, 2013 at 2:00pm at Palm Mortuary, Las Vegas, Nevada. Her remains will be cremated and her ashes will be flown back home to the Philippines.

We wish to have our private moment with our dearly beloved mother on that day. The Acuna family extends our sincere gratitude for all your prayers and thoughts.
