Rose M. Ampania, 71, of Old Bridge passed away peacefully on Monday June 7, 2010 at the Raritan Bay Medical Center, Old Bridge. Rose worked for several years with the US Postal Service in Freehold. She was a communicant of St Thomas the Apostle RC Church in Old Bridge. Her family was her life as she spent many years as a homemaker. Born in Manhattan, she resided there before moving to Old Bridge in 1961. Rose is predeceased by her husband, the late Robert R. Ampania of 49 years in 2005. She is also predeceased by her brother and sister, James Meeg and Patricia Cusumano. Rose leaves 4 children, all of Old Bridge, Gail Nesbitt, Nancy Lanza, Glen Ampania and Robert Ampania. Also surviving are a grandson Brian Ampania, and a greatgranddaughter Nicolette Ampania; and 5 brothers and sisters, Margaret Kuczmarski of Brick, John Collins of E. Brunswick, Dorothy Pellizzi of L.I.,NY., Ellen Kenney of Fla., Donald Meeg of Staten Island, NY., and many nieces and nephews. Friends may call on Wednesday, June 9 from 2-4 & 7-9pm. A Funeral Liturgy will be Thursday, June 9, 2010 at 9am from St Thomas the Apostle RC Church, Rt 18, Old Bridge. Committal will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully request considering a donation to the American Diabetes Association P.O. Box 13067 Alexandria, VA. 22312-9067. I was so saddened to read about Rose's passing today. I worked with her for 6 years at the Contract Post Office in Freehold. I can truly say she was a gem and I was privileged to have known her. Please accept my heartfelt condolences. I truly sorry for your loss.

"Rose" I miss you already. I have had so much fun with you over the years and the family. Remembering all the parties at your house and most of all "setting up the christmas tree" at your house. Your "jewish daughter" who loved decorating for the holidays at your house. All the shopping trips too. You made me laugh so many times i will miss you lots.
