Rose Vance Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Feb. 9, 2017.

Rose Marie Vance, 88, was called home by her Lord the morning of February 8th, 2017. She passed peacefully, with dignity, and surrounded by loved ones.

Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, February 25, 2017, at Our Lady's Immaculate Heart Catholic Church. Visitation will be held one hour prior to Mass.

Rose was born November 16th, 1928 in Oshkosh, WI to Joseph & Anna Mauritz. She met her husband, Milan (Mel) Vance, under mistletoe on New Year's Eve 1954, and were married December 27th 1955 for 32 wonderful years. She spent most of her working life at the Bell Telephone company, and retired in 1993.

Her husband Mel, brother Edgar Mauritz, and sister Marcella Lundholm preceded her in death. She is survived by her daughters, Anna (Phillip) Williams, Mary Vance, and by her grandchildren Samuel and Emma Williams.

Witty, spunky, and full of life up to her last days, Rose touched lives wherever she went. She loved all holidays and loved having custom nails to match even more. She rarely missed a day among friends at the Neveln Center for 28 years, met friends at Gino's restaurant Saturday nights for 30 years, and spent over thirty years worshipping her Lord and Savior at Our Lady's Immaculate Heart church.

I met Rose at Taylor House while visiting another friend. I was so impressed and inspired by a lady who loved the Lord. She was amazing to sit and talk with. When visiting once after praying with her, Rose asked if she could pray for me! The world will truly miss Rose and I so appreciate the short time I got to be in this lady's presence and know this unique child of God.
