Rosine Atencio, 80, went to be with the Lord on December 25, 2011. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She took great pride in her family and home and will be forever in our hearts. Her ornery sense of humor and gestures will be fondly remembered. Survived by her husband, Toby; son, John; daughters, Nathalie (Jerry) Cox, Claudia (Roger) Stubenrouch, Vernal (Richard) Sanchez, Rubina (Richard) Tanner and Betty Jean (Brian) Abbott; daughter-in-law, Susie Atencio; 8 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren; granddogs; numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Preceded in death by her parents, brothers and two sons, Michael and Toby Jr. The family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to Dr. Laurence Jensen and staff and Pastor Mark Crates. At her request, direct cremation has taken place with a private family gathering at a later date.

Atencio Family,
We are just heartbroken to hear of Aunt Rosie's passing. I have such fond memories of summer visits to Pueblo with Grandpa Chuck and Grandma Norma. I always looked forward to her breakfasts - potatoes and bacon fried in the same pan - yum! I always felt so welcome and comfortable in her home. I find comfort in knowing that Grandpa Chuck has his FAVORITE cousin with him in heaven. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.
