Roy James Zaffuto, Sr. passed away on Friday, January 5, 2018 at the age of 85. He was the devoted husband of the late Joyce Mammelli Webster Zaffuto. Father of Anthony “Tony” Zaffuto, Freddie Zaffuto, Roy Zaffuto, Marla Zaffuto Morris (Sammy), and step-father of Frank D. Webster, Ronnie M. Webster (Amy), Marie Webster Gerstman (Michael), and the late Cyrese Webster Parker. Grandfather of Frank J. Macaluso, Salvatore A. Macaluso, Beth Webster Wheeler (Matt), Kristina Webster Weiskopf (Rodney), Malinda Webster Pittman (Barrett), Brittney Webster, Melissa Kelley Hoffmann (Steven), Katie Webster Carpenter (Paul), Kacey Webster (Eldon), Erik Oltmann (Barbie), Emily Vairin (Taylor), and Natalie Bennett. Great grandfather of Meghan, Taj, Olyvia, Ella, Madeline, Laura, Wyatt, Audrey, Justin, Claire, Caitlynn, Macy, Gage, Owen, Aubrey and Elliot.
Roy was a Navy Veteran, and retired from Domino’s Sugar after 42 years of service. He was an altar server at Our Lady of Prompt Succor, and also a member of the Altar Society. He loved the Saints and was a skilled woodworker, who specialized in making rosaries.
He will be loved and forever missed by all who were fortunate enough to know him.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation to be held at OUR LADY OF PROMPT SUCCOR CHURCH, 2320 PARIS ROAD, CHALMETTE LA 70043, on Saturday, January 13, 2018 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM, with a mass to follow, at 1:00 PM. He will be laid to rest in St. Bernard Memorial Gardens.
