Roy Oliver Boyer (1921 - 2014) Roy O. Boyer passed away Saturday, February 22, 2014 in Yuma, Arizona. He was born in Alliance, Nebraska in October, 1921 to Roy and Maud Boyer. As a youth he was a member of 4-H, raising farm animals. In May 1942 Roy married Louise Nielsen of Alliance. Four children joined this family Steven (Vicky) Boyer of Thermopolis, WY, William [deceased} Boyer, Kathryn (Dave) Ramsey of Thermopolis, WY, and Susan (David) Pond of Yuma, AZ. Roy O. Boyer passed away Saturday, February 22, 2014 in Yuma, Arizona. He was born in Alliance, Nebraska in October, 1921 to Roy and Maud Boyer. As a youth he was a member of 4-H, raising farm animals. In May 1942 Roy married Louise Nielsen of Alliance. Four children joined this family Steven (Vicky) Boyer of Thermopolis, WY, William [deceased} Boyer, Kathryn (Dave) Ramsey of Thermopolis, WY, and Susan (David) Pond of Yuma, AZ. He had ten grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren and through his second marriage six step children. He was preceded in death by his parents, first wife Louise in 1981 and his second wife Rita Sue in 2009, three of his four sisters and one son. He spent the first 65 years of his life in Nebraska and Wyoming as a farmer/rancher and owner/operator of Sheridan Livestock Commission Company in Rushville, Nebraska. He later worked for the Nebraska Stockgrowers Association. In semi-retirement he lived in Chino Valley, AZ and was a field representative at the Prescott Livestock Auction. His final years were spent in Greensburg, KS then Yuma, AZ.

A Mass is being offered in memory of Roy Boyer on 13 March at 6:00 pm at St. Francis Church, 1815 S. 8th Ave, Yuma. Johnson Mortuary is handling arrangements. Burial and services will be in Alliance, Nebraska in the summer with the date pending. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to "AZ Talking Book Library" and sent to 1030 N 32nd Street, Phoenix, AZ 85008.
