ROYCE WALTER ANSTEAD

Services to honor the life of Mr. Royce Walter Anstead, 87, will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, December 21, 2009, at Centuries Memorial Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Centuries Memorial Park. The family will receive guests from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m., Sunday evening at Centuries Memorial Funeral Home.
Royce was born May 11, 1922, in Martha, OK to the late William Melvin and Mary Blanche Anstead. He passed away Saturday morning, December 19, 2009. Royce served his country during WWII in the Army Air Corps and retired from the Army Corp of Engineers after 35 years of faithful employment. He was a member of Summer Grove Baptist Church and enjoyed working in his yard and gardening.
Royce was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Kenneth Anstead. He leaves behind his wife of 61 years, Edna Anstead; daughter, Susan Howard and husband, Terry of Shreveport; son, Cliff Anstead and wife, Charlotte of Rock Wall, TX; sister, Antonea Wallace and husband, Gerald of Altus, OK; grandchildren, David Barnhill, Christopher Anstead, Justin Anstead, Jason Howard, and Lori Vickers; eight great-grandchildren; and special nephew, John David Taylor.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Jimmy Smith, Dr. Joyce Feagin, and Willis Knighton North ICU nurses, Rick and David, for all of their care.
