He is the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Vitale Henry of Houma, LA. He is also survived by his brother Earl Henry of Houma, LA and his sister Grace Rome of Texas. He was a graduate of Louisiana State University, Loyola School of Dentistry and a Naval Lieutenant and Officer of World War II. Royce was a very avid outdoorsman and loved fishing and hunting with his family and friends. He won many honors for his fishing knowledge and skill and always welcomed the opportunity to take others fishing. His fishing adventures with By HEK were often featured in The Times Picayune/States Item sports column, accounting for just some of the many excursions he made to the Gulf Coast waters. He was a kind and gentle man, a friend to many who enjoyed his humor and was loved by all he touched. Although he was with us for a long time, he will be greatly missed.
Friends and relatives of the family are invited to attend the visitation on Sunday May 2, 2010 from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, 4747 Veterans Blvd., near Clearview Pkwy., in Metairie, LA and on Monday at Holy Name of Jesus Church, St. Charles Avenue at Audubon Park, beginning at 9:30 a.m. with a Funeral Mass to follow at 11:00 a.m. Interment in Hope Mausoleum on Canal Street.
