Ruby Lavonne Doerfler Herber, 60, of Hutto, died Friday, Jan. 21, 2011 after a long, courageous battle with breast cancer.

Ruby is survived by her daughters, Jennifer and Jill Herber; son and daughter-in-law, Jeffrey and Carla Herber; and grandson Zachary Herber; as well as several other family members.

The family would like to thank Texas Oncology, Scott & White Hospital-Round Rock and MD Anderson. They would also like to thank the many friends whose unending support has been overwhelming. Ruby's Faith in God never waivered and she was known for her optimistic outlook and her "Ruby Moments."

Ruby was a Great individual (I was so glad to hear at the service that I was not the only person who came to work with two different shoes on). She was truly an amazing person who was optimistic, funny, caring, and genuine. She will truly be missed but her spirit will always be with us. I love you Ruby.... Tammy jaimes
