Rupert Carl Whittemore, 63, a resident of Weyers Cave passed away on Thursday, October 5, 2017.
He was born on November 6, 1953 in Quantico, VA, and was the son of the late Jimmy Whittemore and Blanche Garrison (Manning).
Rupert proudly served in the US Army and has resided in Weyers Cave for the past 11 years.
He is survived by his wife, Betty Whittemore (Nester); a son Jason Whittemore of Huntington Beach, CA; a daughter, Lyndsay Whittemore of Weyers Cave; a grandson, Raylan Whittemore; a sister, Cheri Miller of Brunswick, GA; a brother, Ernie Whittemore and wife, Lisa, of Wytheville, VA; numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Joseph Whittemore.
Honoring his wishes, he will be cremated and a memorial service will be held 11:00 am, Wednesday, October 11, 2017 at Lindsey Funeral Home in Weyers Cave with Pastor Wayne Wright officiating. Military rites will be by Dayton American Legion Post #27.
