Ruth Pethel Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jun. 14, 2017.

Mrs. Ruth Gwendolyn Browning Pethel, 93 went to be with our loving Lord and Savior on June 13, 2017. Ruth was born October 14, 1923, the daughter of Aaron Thronton Browning and Fairer Belle Dixon Browning. She was born and raised in Gainesville, GA where she met and married her soul mate Royce Graham Pethel. They were married for nearly 69 years. Together they raised their two children in a loving home. They lived most of their lives in Marietta, Ga. She was a devout Christian lady that served our Lord by being a shinning example to all that knew her. She was predeceased by her parents, brothers Jack and Dewitt Browning, her husband Royce Graham Pethel, and two grand children David Scott Pethel and Elizabeth Ann Marley. She is survived by her children, son Royce Gary Pethel, daughter Devron Joy Pethel Good; grandchildren Lisa Pethel Campbell, Royce Robert Good, Daniel Ashley Good, Christopher Pethel and 15 great grand and many great great grandchildren who affectionately knew her as Munner. Ruth will be missed and lovingly remembered by family, friends and all who knew her. Heaven rejoices by the passing of this wonderful lady. Farewell precious one until we meet again. In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital will be greatly appreciated.

Elaine/Jim Ellis

I am Elaine Browning Ellis and for as long as I can remember Ruth was always smiling and saying how glad she was to see me. No matter how long it had been. I always felt the love as she made that statement. In the summer as a child I would go to Marietta and stay with them and Joy and I shared lots of good times. She lived in the city to me and I was in the country. There was always so much to do. At the end of the day Ruth and Royce were there to share it all with.
I loved them with my whole heart and I will forever miss them terribly.
Go in peace, Ruth, tell Dad, Jack, Mawma and Popaw, Rilla I love and miss them too.
