Ruth Sheffield Keenum Obituary

Funeral Service will be at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 3, 2017 at Collier-Butler Chapel for Mrs. Ruth Sheffield Keenum, 101, of Southside who passed away Saturday, September 30, 2017. Rev. L. Dale Butler and Rev. Carrie Kramer Jones will officiate. Burial will be at Pilgrims Rest Cemetery, Southside.

Mrs. Keenum was a loving mother and grandmother who had a special gift for nurturing her nieces and nephews. She had been a member of Southside United Methodist Church since the age of 12. She was also a member of the order of the Eastern Star.

Mrs. Keenum was preceded in death by her husband, George Riley Keenum; parents, John Bill and Lula Phillips Sheffield; sisters, Effie Anderson; Kate Waring; Dorothy Sheffield; brothers, J. B. Sheffield; Herschel Sheffield; Clyde Sheffield; Max Sheffield; Wayne Sheffield and son-in-law, Pete Morris.

Survivors include a daughter, Julia Morris; grandchildren, Frankie Holloway; Fran McDuffie; Tim Holloway; Matt Simmons and Joe Simmons; Numerous great grandchildren; great great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Family and Friends will serve as pallbearers.

Honorary Pallbearers will be past and present members of Southside United Methodist Church.

Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Southside United Methodist Church.

The family would like to extend special thanks to the Nurses and Staff of Gadsden Health Care Center and Camellia Hospice; Jennifer Patterson; Kay Harden and Tammy Deweese.

Visitation will be Tuesday from noon until 2 pm at the funeral home.
