Beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother of Temple

Terrace entered into heaven January 18, 2011. Mrs. Ahonen was one of

three children born to the late Julius and Anna Schultz, May 30, 1927. She

graduated from Sterling High School in Sterling, IL. Mrs. Ahonen was

married to the late Richard E. Ahonen, of Wakefield, MI for 48 years.

She lived a full life as a military wife, mother, homemaker, worked in retail

and was very active in her church and activities. One of her favorite past

times was playing cards and visiting with her friends at the Lightfoot Senior

Center. Well known for her baking abilities, the array of breads and cookies

were always a welcomed treat, but, the Finnish Biscuit with lots of butter

was her specialty. Mrs. Ahonen is proceeded in death by her husband,

Richard E. Ahonen, parents Julius and Anna Schultz, daughter Sandra Marie

Ahonen and sister Marion Stralow. She is survived by two daughters, Paula

Van Cleave (Ron) of Temple Terrace and Julie Ahonen of El Paso, TX, five

grandchildren Tiffany Donahoo (Dustin) of Riverview, Courtney Van

Cleave of Temple Terrace, Amara, Joseph, and Matthew Williams of El

Paso, TX, great-grandaughter, Allie Williams of El Paso, TX,

brother Ernest Schultz (Hazel) of Sterling, IL and many nieces and

nephews. Mrs. Ahonen will be missed by all who knew her; a kind, caring

and generous person, her love for God and family. A Christian service of

burial will take place at Gonzalez Funeral home at 12:30 pm, Sunday,

January 23rd, followed by internment at Sunset Memory Gardens in

Thonotosassa. Pastor Don Letzring of Wellswood Babtist Church will

preside over both. The family will receive friends at 11:00am, Sunday,

January 23rd . Memorial contributions may be made to Christ Lutheran

School, Sterling, IL or a local Animal/Rescue Shelter.

"Julie and Paula, your Mom was such a nice person. I hope knowing she is with your Dad brings you comfort." Susan Foley Cisneros (Corona, CA)
