Mother: Another year has passed. Sadly, earlier this year we unexpectedly lost Raymond. His passing left a huge hole in our hearts. The outpouring of love from the family and the plethora of cards and letters from his colleagues in the legal community have been a tremendous source of strength. Love, Judy

Hello My dearest wonderful ,beautiful Mommy...Well we did all that you asked and as you also prepared us for much, we were ready for all of that also... we just want to let you know we love you and miss you so very much...The birds and flowers you said would show up, sure did ! and the flowers in my back yard are all in your favorite colors... So I know they are directly from you. I never could get anything to grow in that area and you said it would show up when you were gone.. Well it sure did !
You will be so proud of Kaitlynn, her degree is almost here. she will have her Phd degree at the age of 26.. That is so wonderful and I know you are so very proud of her. Lisa is now studying to be a psych therapist and she is doing great also. Wow, now lisa will have four degrees...I am the one with the least degrees only two but I am going to take a few courses in psych also and may go back to what I did before in counseling. I am still working with my clients and that is also still doing just fine. Daddy did like that when I was teaching and couseling , so I thought I would go back and update my education in that also. We are all just fine and truly miss you so very much. We have followed all your wishes and also have taken care of what you wished us to.
Del is really doing great also, and life is really great for all of us. I know you and Daddy are watching over us and we all feel you around us and often.
I can't tell you how many times we all talk about you. You are still the center of our lives and we all miss you and Daddy so very much. We often go to your favorite restaurant for lunch or dinner and hold that same spot at the same table for you each time we go.
Please tell Nana, that I am doing just fine and all is wonderful. I will always remember how Nana made sure I ate breakfast every morning before school and I always remember your strawberry pancakes that woke me up with that great aroma. I have tried your flank steak recipe and think I finally got it right last week.Hooray! It was fabulous !
We all loved it and it made me so very proud to be able to finally do it and have it turn out so perfectly.

I just can't tell you how much we all miss you and how much you are in our lives. You will always be a great part of my life and I am so very Blessed to have such wonderful parents that loved and took you both always such great care of me. I love you...I love you . I LOVE YOU !
your most precious baby girl. (as you always called me.)

I thank you for all you have done for me and still do for me. I feel you around me constantly.

I am forever your daughter and know that I am never alone as you and daddy and Nana are always near me.

Thank you for alwalys watching over me and for being the best Mommy and Daddy and Nana in the world.

I love you. I just felt the need to talk to you here and let the world know what wonderful parents I have.

I love you .
this candle will burn for eternity.
your loving Daughter .

Grandma,
I have a head full of great memories that I could play like a movie in my head at any moment. I thought I'd share a few of my favorite memories with you.

I remember kicking “our” rock up and down the hill while walking Kindle.

I remember you taking me to the Shrine Auditorium and working as an usher and sneaking me in so I could see the Nutcracker.

I remember adventures like going to the Tar Pits or the train yard or the museum. (I also remember crying when we got lost in the hills and you told me, “Don't worry, we're not lost, we're on an adventure.)

I remember going to Bob's Big Boy with you and Grandpa for a special treat or picking a new restaurant from the big book of coupons.

I remember playing cards until the wee hours in the morning. I may not remember what the heck we talked about but I do remember laughing a lot and not wanting to go to bed.

I remember having a fresh batch of Cottage Cheese and Onions waiting for me whenever I came over.

I remember asking “Why is tonight different from all other nights?”.

I remember Grandpa letting me drink milk even though we were eating meat.

I remember telling my friends that my Grandma and Grandpa had a cat that could say its name. WOW!

I remember going to the complex pool. We would go down the alley (always careful to watch out for the bees). I remember that when it was time to go I would hide my head under the water so I couldn't hear you tell me it was time to go home. And finally we'd go home where I'd nap or play in the living room.

I remember checking out the garage sales looking for neat stuff.

I remember picking up Aunt Sugar to take her to or from work in your little blue Volkswagen Beetle.

I remember always having a box of toys in the downstairs closet.

I remember asking you to wind up the singing birds in the living room.

Most importantly, I remember being loved unconditionally. I may not have appreciated or even understood what unconditional love but I do now. I carry it with me everywhere I go and appreciate it every day. I know that I'm very lucky to have grown up close to Grandparents who loved me so much. Thank you for all the memories and most importantly thank you for unconditional love. I know I'm a better man for it.

Hello Mommy;

I just lit a candle for you and thought I would also light one here for you. I just wish to let you know that I think about you all the time and miss your soft gentle loving words and touch so much . I love the way you show up in my life thru special things, like the flowers in the yard in your fave colors , they bloomed on their own and continue to bloom and I know this is you , letting me know you are watching over me... yesterday, a bird flew by me and stopped right on top of the car, just two feet from me in the driveway. Yup.. I know that is you again Mommy and I adore seeing these things, they are just more enchanting ways that you show me that you are still here with me . Thank you for watching over me and for also guiding my Doctors hand in my Swift recovery from a medical problem. You are forever in my heart and soul, you are the constant light that shines thru my soul. I am so very happy that you are my Mommy and that GOD chose you to be my Mommy and that he also chose Daddy to be my father. I have had a wonderful childhood and a life with you that is forever a blessing . My memories of you and Daddy are so happy and wonderful. I remember so much more now, almost like things of the past were only yesterday ! Thank you for being my Loving and always caring MOmmy, I just felt I wished to let the world know , right this minute that I do cherish all moments I have shared with you and all of the Sweet and wonderful memories that are so deeply part of my life, today and always.
I love you Mommy,
And as you always say to me,
" I love you more, Yes I do."

Hello Mommy, I often light a special candle for your at my home and at my business. or when I travel. its just my very own way of keeping a special place for you in all that I do and am and where ever I am.
I never tire of telling you how much I deeply love you and Daddy. I will always remember the guidance and inner strength that you have instilled in my heart and soul. The constant happiness
and the truly spiritual blessing you have always been in my life.

I just cannot seem to say in words, how wonderful it was and yes, it still is to have a Mommy that I can tell anything to and know in my heart that no matter what, My Mommy is proud of me and loves me today, yesterday and always. I think lovingly and speak about you daily and know that I always will. I will never forget your loving attention all through my life. There is happiness in my heart that you are now with Daddy and I know you are so very happy with him.. I grew up in a home where my parents truly and deeply loved each other and my childhood was one that was always filled with great vacations, lots of wonderful laughter, great times, amazing adventures and of
course lots of yummy goodies and treats.
I am so very proud that you and Daddy are my parents. I remember your visits to my boutique, your royal, enchanting and forever, kind, caring and gracious way of treating all who meet you and the magical way you would always seem to make my stress or problems seem to vanish when I was around you.. My Staff adored you. My friends love you deeply and of course, You are my most beloved and cherished Mommy and you always will be. I miss you so very much. Mommy, I do love you so very much. You always told me you would show me signs that you are watching over me and protecting me and I see them often, The latest one is the humming bird coming into the house, literally almost floating above my head, and then flying back outside. Mommy, I know this is your favorite bird, WE all knew that when this happened, WE all knew that it was was Your way of saying you are still watching over us. I also love the way that gorgeous fuschia flower showed up in my back yard in the one place that nothing ever seemed to grow. I know that
your fave color and I also know that
is your way of letting me
know you are still watching over me and your way of showing how much your deeply love me.

Dear sweet, kind, caring and forever loving Mommy. I am pleased to see so many write such loving and wonderful things to you in your guest book. I like the fact that Merl Jr made sure it is here to stay forever. Its a nice feeling to know we all can say hello and also write what we wish here and often.
I like the notes on memories that many have for you. I love the way so many have so much to say about you and to you.
I am proud to be your daughter, I am thrilled to hear I look like you. And I love it when others tell me that I am just like you ! That truly makes my day. Your the Best Mommy in the world I know many others feel this way also.Especially those you have taken under your wing. You have done so much for so many., Your Kindness and support and loving ways have brought much happiness to all whom have met and known you.
I Miss our little short 2 hour chats , and the wonderful everyday and into the late eve visits, I miss you coming to my home for holiday dinners and luncheons. I miss those fun and zany trips we would make. I miss your wonderful input in all that is and was important to me in business and in my life. I miss your wonderful guidance and artful style when I would re do my business window displays. I remember how you would suggest different styles and colors to me and they would always turn out maginficent! I love our days and evenings together with those that were and are so important to you. I love spending the holidays with you and having you in my whole life. I even miss the way you would laugh when I told you some of those funny Barbie jokes that we both loved so much. I also miss that cottage cheese and onion treat you would make that Merl Jr, adores so much also. I guess
he and I always had that in common and it was something that Daddy also loved to eat. I miss your kishka and potroast that you would make often for us. That amazing wonderful aroma would drift thru the whole house and it was heavenly. It was such a homey
and safe feeling whenever you made that for us.
That was my fave and to this day , I have never been able to replicate it. I guess it was your certain touch that made it so Yummy. There are many things that only a Mother can do or make, No one in the world can replicate them and no one can try to make them like a Mommy does. Its a most special gift that only a MOmmy has. Its a most special love that only a Mommy has and its that special gift and all those special ways that a Mommy has of loving and caring for her family that makes her so deeply loved and missed. No child can express the deep true love they have for their Mommy in just words alone.
A Mother's touch is something that every child misses in their life when their Mommy is gone. No matter what age
they may be.
Its that special always wanted and needed touch that offers such a wonderful feeling in knowning that everthing will be ok , cause Mommy is there and said so !
I am proud that I had
and have the best
Mommy in the world and one that was so intelligent and loving and beautiful. Thank you for going to most all my shows, Birthday parties, events Just about everything in my life. Thank you for your patience and your wonderful guidance . Even when you did not feel well or were busy , You always seemed to be there for me..... I know you loved me so much to go to so many places to show your support and love for me. I thank you for traveling with me so many times and for sharing most everything in my life that was and is important to me. How does a child ever really find a way to say thank you to a loving and caring parent.. A parent that was always a deep part of their lives and everything in it... I have no words to express that deep and loving feeling that I feel and I don't think there really are any serious words
in this world that can express that.. But I will say, Thank you for all you are to me . Thank you for bringing so much happiness into my life and the lives of those that I care about and you care about. Thank you for making sure I always knew that My Mommy loves me dearly . Thank you for all that you have helped me to become and Thank you for making sure I have the strength to deal with all that is in life. You are My Mommy, YOu are in my soul, you are etched into my heart and I love you today as I will for the rest of my life. You are my Mommy and you have become so much in my life. Its not easy to know that I will not be able to see and talk with you daily now,but I still do in my own way and at anytime day or nite. Just like you kept telling me I would.

I love you Mommy and I thank GOD everyday that you are my Mommy and that I am your daughter. Yes, Thank you GOD for the most wonderful Mommy and Daddy in the world. Amen.
Your loving daughter

(Sent to Grandma on Mother's Day,2006)

Grandma,

Mothers Day is quickly approaching and I got to thinking that the only picture I have of you and I together is one Harmony took a few years back and that made me sad. However, I instantly realized that I had something even better…I have a head full of great memories that I could play like a movie in my head at any moment.

Here's how I remember my Aunt Ruth: always smiling, chatty, loving and more than a little feisty. At 90 years old, she was sharp as a tack, still driving, still wearing high heels, and still anxious to go to work, if only someone would give her a job. What a woman!
