Ruth Brown Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Nov. 8, 2012.

Ruth M. Brown went to sleep peacefully on November 5, 2012.

She is returning to Penn Yan where her life will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday November 10, 2012 at the United Methodist Church. In lieu of flowers, please offer contributions to the Yates County Art Center and the Heart of America Chapter of the Alzheimer's Association.

She was a kind soft-spoken lady who spoke volumes with her paint brush. She loved the natural beauty of the Keuka Lake area, the sunsets, the wildflowers and the colors of the changing seasons. She watched the grapes from their vineyards ripen from the palest green to that lush burgundy and often captured any stage in a painting. Both family and countless friends will miss her, but feel her presence in an early spring bloom of a trillium.

Ruth will join her husband Erwin W. Brown at the Second Milo Cemetery. She is also predeceased by brothers Paul, Harold and Kenneth McMaster. She is survived by daughter Judy and Dan Lillis.

Family and friends may sign the guestbook at www.townsendwoodfuneralchapel.com

She was a wonderful aunt who always remembered my brother and my birthday every year. A kind thoughtful lady with a heart full of love. I'm so glad that I got to visit with her last year. Her artwork over the years, which was a passion of hers, shows her unique and limitless talent. She will always be remembered with love.
