Mrs. Ruth Lail Goodin, 86, of 602 Lake Circle, Troutman, died Wednesday evening at her home. Born in Alexander County on February 11, 1926, she was a daughter of the late Ralph Lail and Beulah Vickers Lail. She was a retired textiles supervisor and a long time active member of Troutman Baptist Church. She also volunteered for the Iredell County Council On Aging Senior Meals Program in Troutman. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dwain T. (Pete) Goodin. She was also preceded in death by two brothers George (Buck) Lail and Glen Lail. Mrs. Ruth Lail Goodin, 86, of 602 Lake Circle, Troutman, died Wednesday evening at her home. Born in Alexander County on February 11, 1926, she was a daughter of the late Ralph Lail and Beulah Vickers Lail. She was a retired textiles supervisor and a long time active member of Troutman Baptist Church. She also volunteered for the Iredell County Council On Aging Senior Meals Program in Troutman.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Dwain T. (Pete) Goodin. She was also preceded in death by two brothers George (Buck) Lail and Glen Lail.
Survivors include a son, Mark Goodin and his wife, Teresa of Statesville, a daughter, Mrs. Patti Moore and her husband, Tom of Liberty, N.C., four brothers, John, Ray and Bobby Lail all of Troutman and Tommy Lail of Mickleton, New Jersey and a sister, Nancy Westmoreland of Troutman. Additional survivors include grandchildren: Brynn DeFress, Casey Moore, Wil Moore, Mary Goodin, Sidney Goodin and Luke Goodin and a great grandchild, Sophia Grace.
Services celebrating Mrs. Goodin's life will be conducted at 11:00 Saturday at Troutman Baptist Church with Rev. Steve Kramm and Rev. Paul Childers officiating. She will lie in state at the church for thirty minutes prior to the service and burial will follow at Iredell Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be: Doug, Phil, Charles and Brian Lail, Jeff Leaptrott and Keith Sherrill. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. this evening (Friday) at Bunch-Johnson Funeral Home. Condolences may be sent on line to the family to www.bunchjohnsonfuneralhome.com. Memorials may be given to the Building Fund of Troutman Baptist Church 305 Perry Rd. Troutman, N.C. 28166. Bunch-Johnson Funeral Home is entrusted with the arrangements.
