Ruth Elizabeth Hollern "Grandma Ruth" Blanchard, MI., formally of Lansing Ruth Elizabeth Hollern, born May 26, 1932 to Robert and Madeline (McCoy) Miller, passed away March 28, 2014. She loved her family and was a retired daycare provider for countless children. Ruth enjoyed crocheting, watching the Game Show Network and country music. She was preceded in death by the love of her life, Martin Hollern, her daughter, Patty Grace and son-in-law, Brian Watkins. Ruth Elizabeth Hollern, born May 26, 1932 to Robert and Madeline (McCoy) Miller, passed away March 28, 2014. She loved her family and was a retired daycare provider for countless children. Ruth enjoyed crocheting, watching the Game Show Network and country music. She was preceded in death by the love of her life, Martin Hollern, her daughter, Patty Grace and son-in-law, Brian Watkins. Surviving to cherish her memory are her children, Bob (Suzie) Hollern, Marty (Jody) Hollern, Charlie (Bonnie) Hollern, Paula (Pat) Hall, Ruth Conway, Teresa Watkins, Deb (Dan) Zalud, Dale Hollern, Peggy (Jerry) Marz, Brenda (Scott) Stein, Linda (Chris) Battley, Shelley (Tony) Costello; 38 grandchildren; and 24 great-grandchildren.

The family thanks the staff at Sparrow Hospital, especially Patient Representative, Kim Wheeler, for their compassionate care.

Funeral mass will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 2, at the Church of the Resurrection, 1531 E. Michigan Avenue in Lansing. Family will receive friends from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 1st with rosary being prayed at 7:30, at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes, 900 E. Michigan Avenue.

Those desiring may make contributions to St. Vincent Catholic Charities Children's Home, 2800 W. Willow, Lansing, MI 48917, in memory of Ruth.
