Mrs. Hook was born on April 14, 1928 in Columbia, SC and passed away on Sunday, July 22, 2012. She was the daughter of the late John Roy Smith and Fairy Hiott Smith Trice. Mrs. Hook was a member of St. Stephen's Lutheran Church.
Mrs. Hook is survived by her husband of 61 years, John Manning Hook; daughter, Patricia Hook Thain (Thomas) of Lexington, SC; son, Thomas Manning Hook; brothers, Roy E. Smith (Betty) and Paul A. Smith (Barbara); grandchildren, Shelby Sloan Earnst, Hanna Sloan Estill, Courtney Thain Molony, Cameron Thain Anderson and Elizabeth Hook Hoffman; great-grandchildren, Henry Douglas Earnst, Manning Sloan Earnst, Jake Holbrook Estill, Durham Cameron Molony and Victoria Lynn Hook; 6 sisters-in-law and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her daughter, Paula Hook Sloan, brother, Walter H. Smith and step father, Thomas Edwin Trice.
