Peacefully passed into the care of her Saviour, at her home at St. Peters at Chedoke, Hamilton, in her 103rd year, Monday, Dec 23rd. She was the beloved wife of the late Edward Malcolm Rorke, who passed away Jan 1987. Dear Mother of David Edward Rorke (Ruby) Michael John Rorke, who passed away October 2011, Laurel Marian (Rorke)Cassidy(Alex). Beloved Grandmother of Janice (Rorke) Nesbitt, Joel Rorke (Janine), Kelly (Cassidy) Prachar (Greg), Dan Cassidy
(Robin). Beloved Great Grandmother of Taylar Cassidy, Jeffrey Nesbitt, Kyle Cassidy, Mackenzie Rorke, Eric Prachar, Eric Rorke, Kenzie Prachar, Christopher Nesbitt, Matthew Rorke, Cole Prachar, Everley Rorke. Predeceased by her father, Dr Alfred T Colville and Mother, Mary Frances (Temple). Predeceased by Sisters; Dolly Colville and Jean Colville; Brothers, Victor Colville and Alfred Colville. Ruth was born June 27th 1911 and lived on Park Street in Hamilton ON. Ruth began a primary level teaching career at Benettow School in Hamilton and left to bear and raise her three children. Later in life she returned to primary teaching for the Dundas School Board at Central Public School and Central Park School until retirement. Ruth enjoyed crafts of all types and playing the piano. The latter pleasure carried over to her senior years when she would play music as a volunteer at St Joseph's Villa in Dundas and later at her residence retirement homes at Carrington Place, The Atrium and St. Peters at Chedoke. The Family acknowledges with gratitude the caring and compassionate treatment by Dr Ragbeer, and Nursing Staff and Volunteers of St. Peters at Chedoke during her final journey. A Memorial Service will be held at the Marlatt Funeral Home "Swackhamer Chapel", 195 King St. West, Dundas, has been CANCELLED for Saturday, January 25 due to inclement weather and will be held at a later date .
