Sadie Burks Chambers, 79, passed away Saturday December 16, 2012 at Grand Cove Nursing Facility of Lake Charles.
Sadie was a lifelong resident of DeQuincy and she was a member of Temple Baptist Church.
Sadie is survived by her daughters, Yvonne Granger and husband Lindsay of DeQuincy and Brenda Blagrave and husband Arnold of DeQuincy; sisters, Melba Harver of Blackstone, VA. and Helen Vincent of Boise, Idaho; 9 grandchildren; and 9 great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, Charles L. Chambers; mother, Letha Burks; son, Robert R. Chambers; daughter, Virginia Ann Chambers; brother, Roy Burks; sister, Bobbie Dougharty ; and grandson, Sonny Granger.
Her funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, December 18, 2012 at Hixson-Snider Funeral Home of DeQuincy. Rev. Bruce Austin will officiate. Burial will follow the service at Perkins Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday, December 17, 2012 at Hixson-Snider Funeral Home of DeQuincy and will resume Tuesday at 8:00 a.m. and will continue until the time of service.
