Sam Cascio Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jul. 17, 2014.

CONVENT – Memorial services will be conducted for Mr. Sam J. Cascio, age 70, at 11:00 am Friday, July 25, 2014 at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church in Convent, Louisiana. Visitation will be held from 10:00 am until 11:00 am on Friday preceding the service.

A native of Amite and a resident of Baton Rouge, Mr. Cascio passed away on Monday, July 14, 2014 in Baton Rouge. He went lovingly from the loving arms of his family to the arms of his Lord.

Mr. Cascio loved fishing, lunch dates, road trips, the beach, talking on the phone and being surrounded with family and friends. He was a 4 year veteran of the United States Air Force and served in the Vietnam War. He worked for Bellsouth, giving them 35 years of service. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his daughters, Christine Cascio Hymel and husband Danny, Maria Lourdes; sons, Sam J. Cascio II and wife Stacy, Johnathan Paul Cascio and fiancé Kendra, David Michael Cascio and wife Christin; sister, Lorretta Marie Nettles; brother, Benny Michael Cascio; grandchildren, Joseph Destin Cascio, Madeline Marie Cascio, Avery Lynne Hymel, Alivia Layne Hymel, Ashlie Reese Crowe, Mariana Lourdes Crowe, Elisabella Grace Cascio-Kerr and Kelsey Corrin Cascio.

He was preceded in death by his father, Frank Ignazio Cascio; mother, Laura Helen Cascio and sister, Josie Cascio Magee.

The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses and staff of St. James Parish Hospital, Our Lady of the Lake Hospital, St. Joseph Hospice and The Capitol House and Donna Allen for the excellent care they provided to Mr. Cascio.

Daddy when you close your eyes, what do you see? Is heaven as magical as we think? Daddy with your eyes closed, you look pain free without worry and full of peace. You went to sleep daddy, and with you took a piece of me. But I know God's holding you now and that is so awesome to us. Be good in heaven daddy, and remember to keep us in sight. You have five of us here daddy that you still need to guide. Even though you're gone daddy you taught us so much, how to survive in this world beginning with a daddy's first loving touch.
Now it's your turn daddy to be held oh so tight, by our loving Father who loves you so much. C.Hymel
