I knew Sam since 1979 while working at Cohen and Karydas, a local Architectural firm. I drew inspiration from his passion for his work and his dedication to excellence. We later became good friends and shared many moments together.
I just found out about his passing. I was trying to get him to go to an architecture seminar with me, as we usually did.
Its a shock and I shall miss him always.
He loved his profession.
A great friend.
Rest in peace.

I met Sam only once -- about three weeks ago he came to Adelphi Friends Meeting, and during worship he offered a touching description of his late wife and her work with Quakers, adding that he thought she would be happy that he came and shared with us about her life and work. The worship was deepened and enriched by his message. He will be missed, and remembered in our prayers.

I am Pearse Whelan (13 years old)...
I had known Sam since I was 8 years old. He was a very good person. One of my my favorite memories of him was when I first met him, and he gave me a plant. He said in his country they called that plant a frienship plant, and I still have it today.

Dear Mona, Leila and families,
We are so sorry to hear of the loss of your dear father Sam and so soon after your mother Suzanne departed us. We have known them over the years at Saints Peter and Paul Church and cherished our friendship. Your parents were inseparable in their love for each other, their daughters, family, friends, and our Lord. They both brought so much to our lives and will be missed. Memory Eternal.
Please let us know the plans for the internment service.

Dear Mona, Leila and families,
Please accept my sincere sympathy for your loss. I met your father years ago and always found him to be warm and welcoming. The last time I saw him and your mother he was talking about how important families are and how important it is for us all to stick together. You all are in my thoughts and prayers. I have been thinking about you and your parents often. Take good care. Anita McCurley
