Sammie Lou (Wilson) Kennedy (06/27/1930 – 6/16/2017)
KENNEDY, Sammie L. (age 86) after a long battle with Alzheimer's, Sammie L. Kennedy peacefully passed away at 12:30am Friday, June 16, 2017. Born June 27th, 1930 in Beckham County, Oklahoma. Sammie grew up in Fair Oaks, California with her parents Samuel and Maggie Wilson, seven older sisters and one younger brother. In her early years Sammie worked at McClellan Air Force Base where she met her husband William R. Kennedy. They remained in Fair Oaks, California, raised three children and Sammie worked for Rexall Drug for many years. In her later years, Sammie worked for Fleming Foods. Sammie loved gardening, bargain shopping, painting, socializing with her siblings, and being with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Sammie was preceded in death by her six sisters, younger brother, her husband (William), and her youngest son Russell. She is loved and will be missed by her two surviving children Robert (Deanna)Kennedy and Victoria (Thomas) Willeford, three grandchildren, four great grandchildren, her sister Mary Chittlenden and numerous nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank the staff at Citrus Heights Terrace, Absolute Compassion Hospice and all that helped her along this journey. In lieu of flowers, please send memorials to Absolute Compassion Hospice and California Chapter of Alzheimer's Organization.
