Samuel Everett "Mac" McLellan, 87, went to be with the Lord on May 2, 2012. Mac was married to the late Dorothy "Dot" Butler McLellan. Mr. McLellan was born in Durant, MS but Jackson was where he and Dot made their home. Mr.McLellan was a longtime employee of Mississippi Power and Light (Entergy). He was a veteran of the US Navy and proudly served his country. Mac also received a Juris Doctorate from Mississippi School of Law.
Mr. McLellan had a zest for life that was unprecedented. He loved being outdoors and was known for having a "green thumb". His smile was contagious and he was a loyal husband, brother, uncle and friend. He loved to read the newspaper word for word and enjoyed working the crossword puzzles. During his younger years he was an avid fisherman and bird hunter. He enjoyed dining with Dot at Picadilly and Morrison's and taking trips to Branson, Missouri to shop. Mac was passionate about every aspect of life and never met a stranger. He had a servants heart and was always there to lend a helping hand.
Mac was a member of Broadmoor Baptist Church. Mac and Dot were selfless in their work with Broadmoor. Mac drove buses, helped with Wednesday night dinners and assisted with Vacation Bible School. He considered his church family his "own" family.
He is survived by many nieces and nephews who love him immensely and will forever miss him.
Mac once said, "This house is not a home since Dot died." Now they are united together for eternity.
Services for Mac will be held at Wright and Ferguson on Highland Colony Parkway in Ridgeland, MS. Visitation will be Monday, May 7, 2012 at 10am with funeral services at 11am. Online guestbook www.wrightferguson.com
