Samuel Stewart Mercer, 74, passed away May 14, 2012 and went to be with his loving wife Sharon Mercer. He was born October 4, 1937 in Wood County, a son to the late James and Clara Province Mercer. In addition to his wife and parents he was preceded in death by his brother Clarence Mercer, and sisters, Ellen Perry, Mildred Elliot, and Betty Harris. He is survived by his children, Samuel Mercer of Mineral Wells, Ricky Mercer of Louisiana, James Mercer (Claudette) of Parkersburg, Becky McPherson (Jerry) of Mineral Wells, Tony Mercer (Robin) of Belpre, Randy Mercer (Cindy) of Parkersburg, Joey Mercer (Jill) of Louisiana, and Jeremy Mercer of...
Samuel Stewart Mercer, 74, passed away May 14, 2012 and went to be with his loving wife Sharon Mercer.
He was born October 4, 1937 in Wood County, a son to the late James and Clara Province Mercer.
In addition to his wife and parents he was preceded in death by his brother Clarence Mercer, and sisters, Ellen Perry, Mildred Elliot, and Betty Harris.
He is survived by his children, Samuel Mercer of Mineral Wells, Ricky Mercer of Louisiana, James Mercer (Claudette) of Parkersburg, Becky McPherson (Jerry) of Mineral Wells, Tony Mercer (Robin) of Belpre, Randy Mercer (Cindy) of Parkersburg, Joey Mercer (Jill) of Louisiana, and Jeremy Mercer of Parkersburg, grandchildren, Michael Mercer (Jennifer), Jimmy Mercer (Jennifer), Sara McPherson, Adam McPherson (Ashley), Brandon Mercer, Joey Mercer, Sean Mercer, Kari Mercer, Katie Mercer, Corey Mercer, Kalli Mercer, and Krissi Mercer, great grandchildren, Devin Mercer, Emma Mercer, and Andrew McPherson, brother, Jack Mercer, and sisters, Mary Lyons, Ethel Wright, Ida Marlow, and Donna Houston, along with many nieces, nephews, and extended family.
Service will be Thursday, May 17, 2012, 11 am at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home, with Pastor Mike Lamb officiating. Burial will follow in the Sunset Memory Gardens.
Visitation will be Wednesday, May 16, 2012 from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at the funeral home.
