I just discovered her obituary by chance. I am so sorry to hear this. She was my music teacher in grade school and she was excellent. I still remember her enthusiasm. I am a musician (pianist) and was so appreciative of her as a music teacher. - Keith REDMOND - Paris, France

My sincere condolences to Chuck and George and all of Sandy's friends. We knew Sandy growing up on Wharton Turn. She was a smart and kind person. I remember helping Sandy get her classroom ready in August a few times. Sandy took my sister, brother, Chuck, and me to the zoo, movies and the pool. She was a good friend to my mom, too. What a sweetheart! She is genuinely missed.

I was a student of Mrs. Contois in the 70s at Yorktown Elementary in Bowie. I live in Kansas now so news of her illness and passing found me at the same time. Mrs. Contois was always my favorite music teacher. I remember when she decided to learn to play the guitar and was taking lessons with another teacher. She started accompanying our singing with the guitar instead of the piano as practice. I was so impressed at how quickly she learned it. Later I knew her when she was an owner at Rafters. I know she will be greatly missed and I would like to offer my condolences to her husband, son and other family. I am saying a prayer for Mrs. Contois and all of her family.

I was so sorry to hear that Sandy passed away. She was a wonderful teacher and friend. She was a cheerful uplifting lady. I had been thinking of her so much for the past couple of weeks. I wish I could have visited her before she got so sick. My sincere condolences to you, her husband and son. You have the memory of a great lady to comfort you.
