Sandra Egbers, 62, was born in Portland, Oregon, the oldest of three siblings. She spent her life here, attending Rose City Park Elementary School, Madison High School and Portland State University where she earned her elementary teaching certificate. In 1969 she married Duane Egbers. After teaching at Richmond Elementary School, she took time off to raise her two children. In 1983 Sandy returned to teach at Rose City Park, her alma mater, and remained there until her retirement in 2006. Sandy was dedicated to public education and treasured her family and friends. She is survived by her children, Ben Egbers and Stephanie Egbers-Meyers, her father, Donald Lombard, her siblings, Candy Chapman and Clark Lombard, her three grandchildren and many loving friends and relatives.
Sandra’s memorial service and reception will be at 11:00am Saturday, May 5th at Augustana Lutheran Church, 2710 NE 14th Avenue.
