Sandra A. Ryan, 78, formerly of Des Moines, IA, passed away peacefully on November 26, 2015. Memorial Mass will be 11am, Friday, December 4th at Prince of Peace Catholic Church, 16000 W. 143rd St, Olathe, KS 66062. Visitation will be from 10-11am prior to Mass.
Sandy was born June 27, 1937 in Des Moines, IA to Herman and Margaret (McDaniel) Finney. She retired from the State of Iowa Conservation Commission and was a volunteer EMT for the Delaware Township Fire Department.
Mrs. Ryan was a longtime parishioner of St. Joseph Catholic Church. Sandy thoroughly enjoyed gardening, cooking, crafts, playing cards and watching sports. She held a special place in her heart for all her pets, but above all else, she loved family time with her kids and grandkids.
Sandy is survived by her husband of 59 years, Chuck Ryan; sons, Mike (Kathy) Ryan and Scot (Monique Andrade) Ryan and daughters, Peggy (Eric) Brattebo and Beth (Todd) Daniels. Also left to cherish her memory are 6 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to Beth Daniels Daycare or Elks Lodge #2597.

So sorry to hear of Sandy's passing. I babysat with the four kids back in the 60's and Peggy was the flower girl in my first wedding. Sometimes Sandy would have me come over to help with extra household chores. I remember her smile. My sympathy to all of you.

So sad to hear about Sandy. She was such a good friend. We enjoyed each other's company. She came to my mother's funeral in 1990. Always had a million watt smile on her face. Now we have a new saint to pray to in heaven.
