Sara Belle Salsgiver, 95 of DuBois entered into God's eternal care Sunday, November 11, 2012 at the DuBois Village. She was the wife of the late John Thomas Salsgiver who died August 18, 1964. Born March 18, 1917 in DuBois, she was the daughter of the late Isaac Henry and Florence Mabel (Gray) Salada. Mrs. Salsgiver was a member of Mt. Zion United Methodist Church, DuBois and was a member in numerous organizations in the church. She was a 1935 graduate of Sandy High School. Sara Belle Salsgiver, 95 of DuBois entered into God's eternal care Sunday, November 11, 2012 at the DuBois Village. She was the wife of the late John Thomas Salsgiver who died August 18, 1964.

Born March 18, 1917 in DuBois, she was the daughter of the late Isaac Henry and Florence Mabel (Gray) Salada.

Mrs. Salsgiver was a member of Mt. Zion United Methodist Church, DuBois and was a member in numerous organizations in the church. She was a 1935 graduate of Sandy High School. Mrs. Salsgiver received her BS in Elementery Education from Indiana University of PA. She was employed as a School Teacher for 28 years having taught the third grade for 25 years in DuBois Area School District and three years in both Perry Twp. and Jefferson County. Mrs. Salsgiver memberships include DAR (Daughters of the American Revolution) Order of the Eastern Star, Brookville where she held 11 chairs, All Star Points Association Matron, Worthy Matron, Treasurer Association Conductor and the White Shrine. Also IUP Alumni Association, PASR (Pennsylvania Association of School Retires), life member of Clearfield Co. and PA School Retires and AARP.

Surviving are two daughters and a son: Letitia Anzilla(Letty Ann) Ramsey, DuBois; John Thomas Salsgiver, Cleveland, OH; Louise Michelle Pearce and her husband David, Falls Creek; 5 grandchildren; one brother: William T. Salada, DuBois.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sisters: JoAnn S. Jackson, Elizabeth Salada Woomer and Anzilla E. Salada; brothers: Samuel Salada, Rueben Salada, Maurice V. Salada and Isaac Salada.

A funeral service will be at 11:00 AM, Friday, November 16, 2012 at the Mohney-Yargar Funeral Chapel, Inc., 142 W. Long Ave., DuBois, PA 15801 with Rev. Ron Lindahl and Pastor Kevin Bockus co-officiating. An opportunity to view will be Thursday from 2:00 – 4:00 and 6:00 – 8:00 PM at the funeral home. An Eastern Star Service will be held at 7:00 PM. Viewing will also be on Friday from 10:00 - 11:00 AM the time of service at the funeral home. Burial will be in Salem Cemetery.
