Cousin Scott,
One of my favorite memories of
you had to be: The whole family from
Illinois made the trip back to Colorado
for your sisters wedding. Then you arrived sporting a black “mullet” and guitar in hand. I remember that Aunt Jean was very anxious to hear you finally play. I believe you were pretty
convinced that you didn't play any songs
that your aunt might of recognized, but you still managed to humor her by playing the theme song to the Beverly Hillbilly's.

I personally admired you for your artistic talent and have vivid memories of visiting with you about art and
designing. Ofcourse we would not want to leave out your great personality!

Cousin Scott...Boy what an original and one of a kind. Though we were not together a bunch every time I did see you how we laughed. The first vivid memory of you was the "Rock Star" coal black hair at your sisters wedding. When we made the trek from Illinois to Colorado the buzz was Scott was gonna make it to the wedding. And boy you did. Andy just stood there and looked at you like you were a god. I chuckled cause of the wild and crazy stories of being that rock star in California. Then a few years passed and you made the trip to Illinois for the family reunion. I was 17 years old and one of those few days while we were there you sent me after a Pepsi for you. As an adoring cousin...off I went to fetch your drink. Down the stairs I came with a Pepsi in hand and had my hand out to give it to you. You looked at me like I was crazy and started laughing and said "What the hell is that?" A Pepsi I said. You just kept laughing and said "I havent seen a Pepsi like that since I was a kid" Well in good ole Illinois backwards small town America in about 1992 we still had Pepsi in a glass bottle. Not sure why I still remember that so vividly but I just remember your laughter being contagious. I think that will be missed most and the big ole smile. Rest Peacefully Cousin Scott.

Scott and I had some memorable days together during our youth in Manassas, VA. Most of our times were spent in youthful mischief, however, we weren't too good at it because our parents always caught us in the act...Some nights, I remember getting spanked by Ron AND Fred (Scotts dad)! I have many fun memories with your family, Scott...good times, indeed. You will be missed, my friend - Gods grace and love on your family.

I didn't know Scott as well as some, but I didn't need to, to understand the kind of man he was. He wore his compassion on his sleeve and always a smile on his face. I'm comforted in knowing he lived his life as a child of God. My condolences to all who will miss him so dearly.

To Scott:

You were a bright spark
In this humdrum world.
You could light up a room,
Simply by walking in.

No matter how I felt at a given time,
You could always make me laugh.

You were more alive than life itself
Life seemed to leap from your very pores
It is so hard to believe that you're gone.

Your enthusiasm was magnetic,
Your sorrow was heartbreaking,
Your anger was formidable,
And your childlike joy
Was a rare and precious flower.

In our memories you will live on
In bright and colorful snapshots
You could be a lot of things
But you were never, ever dull.

You gave to those who needed help
Asking nothing in return,
Except perhaps that they be generous
To others, as you were to them.

As an artist, you expressed yourself
With hammer and saw and wood,
With paints and canvas,
With guitars and amplifiers,
With plans of things yet to be

It seemed there was nothing you couldn't do.

To our great sorrow, you are gone from us
But you did not leave a blank space behind
Instead, you left a lifetime's legacy
Of living out loud.

Uncle Scott. You will be so missed. Your smile contagious. I am so blessed to have my love of art and music influenced by you. It is so exciting to know we will have you looking down and guiding us through the rest of our time here. I wish we could have lived closer. I thank god that you had such a beautiful person as Pam in your life. We saw two people who had true happiness. We love you Scott. Forever and always uncle. Much love.

Scott was a bright spot in my life. Encouraging, accepting as well as funny and outgoing. He never apologized for being who he was and what he believed in. I will always remember our concerts; all the hard work and fun we had. He was a sweet soul and will be greatly missed. Love and prayers to the family at this most difficult time. I hold Scott's family and friends in the forefront of my mind today, as I have every day since he died. Your loss breaks my heart -- especially that of Lois -- no mother should ever have to bury a child.

May all of you feel entitled to take ALL the time you need to grieve and heal. May you treat yourselves gently. May you be there for each other. May you be comforted by the memory of his Scott's love for you.

Praying for comfort for the family and friends of Scott. I had lost track of him when I left SRCC and my granddaughter told me about his going home to be with Jesus. I am so sorry for your loss and pray for the Lord to comfort you and bring peace during this difficult time. He was too young. Doris Jecminek

Scott was one of the most interesting people I have ever known, and one of the friendliest too. What a great co-worker - knowledgeable, sharp, well-presented, confident, caring - I and the rest of his colleagues will certainly miss him.

One of the most encouraging aspects about his full life was his faith. NONE of us is perfect, and that's exactly why Scott trusted in what Jesus had done FOR him (not what he had done for Jesus) for a right standing before God. It is a decision we all should make.

My prayer is for those left behind, that God would comfort your hearts as only He can.
