SCOTT SAUNDERS ABEL, age 49, died peacefully after a battle with cancer on June 28, 2011, surrounded by family. Born August 27, 1961 in Honolulu, Scott graduated Punahou School, class of '79. As 1977 Young Musician of the Year, Scott played the Horn Concerto No. 1 by Mozart with the Honolulu Youth Symphony, and was awarded a scholarship to the San Francisco Conservatory of Music, where he studied French horn. After college, Scott pursued a career in information technology, becoming a data mining expert. SCOTT SAUNDERS ABEL, age 49, died peacefully after a battle with cancer on June 28, 2011, surrounded by family. Born August 27, 1961 in Honolulu, Scott graduated Punahou School, class of '79. After college, Scott pursued a career in information technology, becoming a data mining expert. He worked for DHL in Honolulu, the Museum of Natural History in San Francisco, and most recently for CSAA of Northern California in Walnut Creek.

Scott will be remembered for his quick wit and devotion to his extended family, and for his lifelong love of music.

Scott is survived by his Mother, Elizabeth Saunders Abel Robinson and Step Mother, Gigi Abel, both of Honolulu; brothers Miller Thomas Abel of Seattle and Jay Alexander Abel of Nova Scotia; Sister Julie Thot Gregory of Virginia; Step Brothers Peter Robinson of Honolulu, Nathaniel Robinson of San Jose, Timothy Robinson of San Francisco, and Step Sister Sarah Robinson of Taos.
