Obituary

S. Marie Wilkins, age, 90, passed away on July 26, 2014 in Jacksonville. She had been a resident of the Jacksonville area since 1960 moving from Norfolk, VA. She was born on November 25, 1923 in Pitt County, N. Carolina to Louis and Effie Mobley. Prior to retirement Mrs. Wilkins was a registered nurse and had been employed for 10 years at Blue Cross and Blue Shield and the worked for The Clinic for Digestive Diseases in Jacksonville. She was a member of Deermeadows Baptist Church and had been a long time member of Hyde Park Baptist Church prior to that. She loved sewing and doing needlepoint. S. Marie Wilkins, age, 90, passed away on July 26, 2014 in Jacksonville. She had been a resident of the Jacksonville area since 1960 moving from Norfolk, VA. She was born on November 25, 1923 in Pitt County, N. Carolina to Louis and Effie Mobley.
Prior to retirement Mrs. Wilkins was a registered nurse and had been employed for 10 years at Blue Cross and Blue Shield and the worked for The Clinic for Digestive Diseases in Jacksonville.
She was a member of Deermeadows Baptist Church and had been a long time member of Hyde Park Baptist Church prior to that. She loved sewing and doing needlepoint.
She is survived by her loving family of a son David L Wilkins "Kathy" of Greensboro, NC; one Daughters, June Wilkins of Jacksonville and one brother Ben Mobley "Cherry" of Asheboro, N Carolina. Also are two nieces Ann Miles and Marlene Gregory and one Nephew Benjamin Mobley.
A visitation will be held on Friday August 1, 2014 from 6:00 to 8:00PM at the Hardage Giddens Funeral Home 729 S. Edgewood Ave., Jacksonville, FL 32205. A graveside service will be at the Forestlawn Memorial Gardens in Lake City, FL at 10:00am on Saturday August 2, 2014.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the or the Community Hospice/ Hadlow Center. Arrangements are under the direction of Hardage Giddens Funeral Home 729 S. Edgewood Ave.
