Bliven, Seth Ivan, 85, of Sebring, FL, passed away at Good Shepard Hospice on Tuesday, November 26, 2013. He was born in Unadilla, NY on December 3, 1927, the son of Ruth (Harrington) and Ivan O. Bliven. He enlisted in the U.S. Army at age 17 and fought in the South Pacific during World War II. He dedicated his life to his family, education of children and God as a United Methodist Minister. He had a long career as a teacher and school administrator in the Plattsburgh, NY area. He retired to Clearwater, FL in 1995 from Ausable Chasm, NY. Bliven, Seth Ivan, 85, of Sebring, FL, passed away at Good Shepard Hospice on Tuesday, November 26, 2013.
He was born in Unadilla, NY on December 3, 1927, the son of Ruth (Harrington) and Ivan O. Bliven.

He enlisted in the U.S. Army at age 17 and fought in the South Pacific during World War II.

He dedicated his life to his family, education of children and God as a United Methodist Minister. He had a long career as a teacher and school administrator in the Plattsburgh, NY area. He retired to Clearwater, FL in 1995 from Ausable Chasm, NY. As a retired minister, he served congregations in Upper Jay and Keene NY, Palm Harbor FL and Sebring FL. He enjoyed singing in church choirs and was an accomplished organist. He was an active Kiwanis Club member in Keesville NY and Palm Harbor FL.

He was predeceased by his wife of 32 years, Charlotte Mae (Aubin) in 1984, his parents, his sisters Arlene R. Altes and Elma M. Bliven and brother Owen R. Bliven. He is survived by a son, George D. Bliven,and his wife Cathy of Port Angeles, WA; 2 daughters: Chris Ellen Bliven, and her husband, Steven Greenbaum of Cudjoe Key, FL and Maggie Gandee of Sebring, FL; two brothers, Ralph M. Bliven, and his wife, Ginny of Punta Gorda, FL and Roy B. Bliven, and his wife, Diane, of Safety Harbor, FL; numerous nieces and nephews, 4 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends at 9 AM, Tuesday December 3rd, 2013 at Moss Feaster Funeral Home, 693 S. Belcher Rd., Clearwater, FL followed by a celebration of his life at 10 AM. Interment will be at Sarasota National Cemetery in Florida at 2 PM Tuesday with Military Honors.
