Sharon Ann Dornon was born September 8, 1946 in Auburn, New York, to John and Erma Alling. She married the love of her life, Raymond Edward Dornon on January 1st, 1966, until his departure to Heaven May 13th, 1993. Sharon was reunited with her husband in Heaven on August 8th, 2017.

Sharon was preceded in death by her father, John Stephen Alling, Sr.; mother, Erma Alling; and brother, John Stephen Alling, Jr.

She is survived by her daughter, Raeann Michelle Dornon; son, Raymond Edward Dornon, Jr. and fiancée Angela; grandchildren, Preston Michael Dornon and Dannyelle Marie Croft; brother, Bill Alling and wife Kathy; sister-in-law, Amelia and husband Steve Joss; as well as many nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

Well we have completed the services shedding more than a few tears, giggling as many laughs. Preston asked me the other day if I really thought I could get through the service speaking. I told him I was gonna give it my best shot. Tonight on the way home he told me I did a good job. My response was it was the least I could do to honor a lady that poured so much into my life.
As I sit here there are still so many thoughts still running through my mind. I don't think they will make sense so I will just say thank you and I love you mom.

Sharon was a woman with a big heart. I always admired and appreciated the love she showed my sister, Tanya, and her children Preston & Dannyelle. She didn't let technical terms like "ex-wife or ex-daughter in law" define her relationships, she let love determine her relationships and she loved big. She was a fabulous story-teller, and one hell of a card game queen! One thing the world knew was how much she loved her husband, Raymond. And the second thing the world knew is how much she loved her grandson, Preston. My heart is at peace knowing she is reunited with the man of her dreams. I am sending my love to all those that loved her. May God give you peace and the strength to hold on to her memory.

I remember Sharon coming down to Connecticut in the summer. She was so much fun t be around. She would take us to Norton Park to play. My dad and Uncle John always chased her around the yard so they could throw her in our little pool. She got so mad at them, but it was funny to watch. I'm going to miss her.

Raeann, I know there are no words to express the sorrow and feelings you are having, I have been told that the pain and sorrow we, the living, are having is because we know the departed are in such a better and more beautiful place and we, the living, are stuck here. I will always remember the fun time we had when she came to Albany and our way to meet Raymond Jr. and stopping at the casinos. I know she had a big welcome group waiting.

Dear Aunt Sharon, I haven't seen you in so long but I missed you then and I miss you more now. I would have given anything to see that reunion at the pearly gates, as you were welcomed by all who love you and have missed you for so long. I love you and am thankful you are no longer suffering. Thank you for 40+ years of the great memories and the even greater stories and jokes. I think of them even today and it makes me laugh. Please watch over my dad and my mom and give everyone a huge kiss and lots of hugs for me. You are surely missed here. I love you Aunt Sharon xoxo

Sharon was my sister-in-law, but we were more like sisters. Sharon often said that I was the only person who could talk her into doing things she disliked, such as hiking.

I talked Sharon into hiking at Hungry Mother Park in Virginia, the outcome of that experience makes me laugh even now. We got off the trail on the other side of the mountain by the trail head parking lot. I asked a person who was about to hike the trail which would be the shortest way back to the park, the road or the trail. The answer was, the road was 5 miles and the trail was 4 miles away. When Sharon heard this she lost it. It would not be proper to say what she did or said. Let's just say Sharon was not happy and I was never able to get Sharon to hike with me again.

Sharon, whether you wanted to or not, you always gave things a try for me. Thank you Sharon for being a part of my life.
