Sharon Lee Napier lived a full, loving and vibrant life. On Friday, April 11, 2014, she exchanged this life for her heavenly life.

On December 5, 1944, in Oak Hill, WV., Margaret (Sharpe) Stone and Leonard D. Stone welcomed their daughter, Sharon, into their lives. She was their only child and they preceded her in death along with her husband, Jim L. Napier.

Sharon attended Fayetteville High School in Fayetteville, West Virginia where she actively participated in Glee Club, Future Homemakers of America and County Chorus. Upon graduation she joined classmates and travelled, by train, to Washington, DC where she began her professional career.

Often, Sharon acknowledged that her most rewarding event in life was the birth of her three children, Lynn Beth Stone, John Stockton VanMeter and Jill Renee' Napier.

She continued to expand her career while living in Washington, DC, Ft. Bragg, North Carolina, Nashville, Tennessee and McAlester, Oklahoma. She returned to Nashville to join her three children. Also, it was in Nashville where she completed her college degree at Middle Tennessee State University while continuing to be deeply fulfilled as a Mother and was a successful Social Counselor II at the Department of Children's Services where she was a child advocate for the State of Tennessee. Sharon received several commendations and service awards for her outstanding work. She was also the first female in the United States to work on Death Row at Oklahoma State Penitentiary as the Warden Secretary in McAlester, Ok.

Sharon was a life-long learner. In addition to university studies, she thrived on connecting with people and sharing life stories. She loved travelling, bird watching, and reading CIA and spy thrillers. She was an avid reader of the Bible and was baptized at the age of 10. Sharon participated in bible study groups including Team 3:19 in Brentwood, TN and was active in her church community at Higher Ground in White House, TN.

She was loved and will be deeply missed by many including her grand-fur babies, Simon Diamond and Destiny Marie.

Please join us to celebrate Sharon's life on April 21, 2014 at Eastland Funeral Home, 904 Gallatin Road, Nashville, TN 37206. Pastor Mark Jones of Higher Ground Church, White House, Tennessee will lead a celebration of life service. Visitation will be from 5 – 7 p.m. and service will immediately follow.

Our dear Mother will have her final earthly resting place in the mountains of West Virginia where she was born. In May, Reverend Mack Canterbury, Pastor of the Gum Springs Baptist Church, Chimney Corner, West Virginia will lead a celebration of life service at his church followed by a family gathering and prayer at Huse Memorial Park Cemetery, Fayetteville, West Virginia.
