Well I don`t know where to start, I guess was back in the early 80`s I meet Shawn, he was liveing with Larry and Janet Mette Aunte and Uncle. He was a little boy when I first meet Shawn and he was a typicall boy. He grew into a fine young man and went to serve his country, being a veteran myself I was proud of him. I tried to see him when ever he came home. A real Gator fan thats for sure, I think he got a rare deal out of life to get struck down in the prime of his life. He was a fighter thats for sure all the way to the end. I will miss Shawn and keep his memory in my heart forever. A brother in arms

I met Shawn at Osan AB in 1999 - 2000. I was very pleased to teach Shawn some of the traditions of the Philippines for he took a very keen interest in learning the ways and life styles. I will miss our conversations and misadventures we had which I treasure today forever in my heart. I know he is in a better place now. Good bye my friend...

I have great memories of happy times with Shawn and Nelia from Osan AB, Korea. My wife, Aisyah and I were pleased that he used his DJ talents at our wedding reception in 2000. All of us went thru a lot of changes, personal and professional, in 1999-2002, and Shawn was there to assist with a funny story or another round. Rest in peace, Shawn!

I would like to express my heartfelt condolences to Shawn's family. I was priviledged to serve with Shawn at RAF Lakenheath AFB, in England. He was a great member of our USAF. He was dedicated to his job. He always made you laugh, when you had a bad day at work, and he was a good listener. He touched all of our lives, with the people he worked with at Lakenheath. He will always be in our memories and our hearts.
Shawn was a dedicated FL fan and I am a dedicated GA fan. We had goodtimes going back and forth about our respective teams. Oh and those between the hedges stories that him and MSgt Tidwell would come up with on Friday during football season were hilarious! I am just priviledged that I was to know Shawn and his precious family. May God Bless you all and we will be thinking of you and praying for you.

I am so glad I got to meet you Shawn. Maybe you will meet my son and become friends as you two had a lot in common besides the cancer. Ricky was also in the military and loved life and his wife and kids. He to had a son and daughter and wife that he hated to leave behind. He was a wonderful person and I know that you were too. If you happen to run into him, will you tell him his mother misses and loves him so much. Take care and know that you were loved very much. I'll miss you.

First of I would like to send my condolences to the entire Mette family. I was privileaged to be stationed with Shawn for a couple years in Wyoming. I learned alot from Shawn and he was always telling funny stories of which brought good times to the Public Health office. One of my favorite things about Shawn was everytime we had an office gathering he would volunteer Neila for making a couple hundred lumpia. I will never forget you Shawn..
