SMITH, Sherry Faye Fulford, 62, died peacefully in the care of loved ones on December 17, 2017, after a year-long battle with leukemia. As a life-long Brandon area resident, Mrs. Smith graduated from King High School and was employed by the Hillsborough County School Board as a technology analyst. She was an active member of New Hope United Methodist Church in Brandon. Sherry was known for her love of God, family, and compassion for others. She was a strong woman of faith whose selflessness in raising her four children enabled them to be the successes they are today. She was loved by many and will be dearly missed. She was preceded in death by her sister, Sandra Cortino; father, Murray Fulford; and step-father, Harley Johnson. She is survived by her mother, Doris Johnson-Croy; her children, Trevor Keith Smith, Troy Kalen Smith, Taylor Kline Smith, and Tara Smith Rivera; and grandchildren, William Letner, Rachel Smith, Ella Smith, Ava Smith, Nathan Smith, and Zachariah Rivera. Her internment will be at Hillsboro Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to your local animal shelter.

I know that no words can ease the loss that the family is feeling, but just know that you all are in my thoughts and prayers. Although it's difficult today to see beyond the sorrow, may looking back at the memories you all shared, comfort you through this time. As you grieve now, I will be remembering the family and honoring the memory of Sherry. Gone from our sight, but never from our hearts.
