Shirley M. Martin (nee Gilford), age 88, of Dyer, IN passed away Thursday, September 15, 2016. She is survived by her three sons: David (Karen) Martin, Timothy Martin and Keith (Jayne) Martin; two daughters: Melody (Bob) Clegg and Kimberly (Mark) Pratt; son in law, Tom Angel; six grandsons: Ryan Martin, Thomas "T.J." Angel, Collin, Cameron and Canaan Pratt and Ian Martin; three granddaughters: Amy Wood, Amy Angel-Sherman and London Humiston; and ten great grandchildren. Mrs. Martin was preceded in death by her husband, Angus Martin; and daughter, Penny Angel. Funeral services will be held Monday, September 19, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. DIRECTLY at Lake Hills Baptist Church, 9209 W. 85th Ave., Schererville, IN with Pastor Phil Humber and Pastor Bruce Bigelow officiating. Interment will follow at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens, Schererville, IN. Friends are invited to meet with the family Sunday, September 18, 2016 from 3:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral home, 8178 S. Cline Ave. (one-half mile south of U.S. 30) Schererville, IN. Mrs. Martin was a retired church secretary with the First Baptist Church of Dyer, IN. She was also a member of the Lake Hills Baptist Church of Schererville, IN. Shirley was a graduate of Hammond Tech High School. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Shirley's loving memory to the Lake Hills Baptist Church.
