The daughter of Bobbie Cummings and Moia Giles, Shirley was born in Fort Worth, Texas on August 20, 1954. She attended Woodson then Cooper High School. After marrying and moving to Rahway, New Jersey in 1973, she returned to Abilene in 1975 where she remained until her passing. Shirley had a passion for fashion and enjoyed finding deals at second hand stores for herself and others. She made sure she had on her makeup and was well dressed whenever she left her house. She enjoyed helping others and bringing a smile to everyone's face.

Her parents, Bobbie and Moia Giles preceded her in death.

Survivors include sons, Brian Stokes (Idell), Geocoby Arrington and daughter Miracle "Angie" Nichols (Jayson). Grandchildren include Christian and Glorianna Nichols, Brittany and Imani Stokes and great-grandson Jayden Wilson. She is also survived by her sister, Pamela J. Giles. Shirley also leaves to mourn aunts, uncles, cousins and a host of friends and strangers who will remember her as a lady who always lit up a room with her smile and unconditionally loving spirit. She walked in beauty.

Pallbearers include Bobby Beaty, Christopher Beaty, Jayson Nichols, Juan Herrera, Michael Nichols, Robert Jacques and Ron Egly.

Please express your condolences by donating to Shirley's favorite charity, Goodwill Industries, or to a charity of choice in her honor. One of Shirley's greatest passions was finding ways to give to others.

2 Timothy 1:7 ~~~
"For God hath not given us the spirit of fear, but of power, and love, and of a sound mind."
