Shirley Bernier, 89
Waterville - Shirley Anne Bernier, 89, passed away on Tuesday November 22, 216 following a brief illness. She was born on September 24, 1927 in Peabody, Massachusetts. She moved to Waterville, Maine to attend and graduate from Colby College where she met her husband, Albert Laurier Bernier.
She is survived by her husband of 67 years Albert Bernier; her children and their spouses: Michelle and Roger Hatch of Littleton, Mass; Maureen and George Jakubson of Ithaca, New York; David Bernier and Karen Unger of Waterville; Maryanne Bernier of Waterville; Meg and Greg Boyd of Waterville; Paul and Elaine Bernier of Upton, Mass; Daniel and Jennifer Bernier of Waterville; 17 grandchildren; five great grandchildren; her sister Barbara Quirk of Bedford, New Hampshire; her sisters-in-law Fernand Bernier of Waterville and Alice Lander of Portland; as well as many nieces and nephews.
Visiting Hours will take place at Veilleux Funeral Home, 8 Elm Street in Waterville on Sunday, November 27th from 4:00 to 6:00 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 72 Pleasant Street Waterville on Monday, November 28th at 11:00 am followed by interment at Saint Francis Catholic Cemetery, 78 Grove Street, Waterville.
