Shirley H. Boedecker, 83, of Sheboygan Falls went to be with her Lord on Tuesday, August 14, 2012 at Woodland Manor. Shirley was born October 19, 1928 in St. Paul, MN to Frank and Marion (Hazel) Harvey. Her family relocated to Manitowoc and she was a graduate of Lincoln High School. Following graduation she then moved to Sheboygan where she was employed at Sheboygan County Register of Deeds. On December 6, 1957 Alfred and Shirley (Harvey) Boedecker were united in marriage. Shirley H. Boedecker, 83, of Sheboygan Falls went to be with her Lord on Tuesday, August 14, 2012 at Woodland Manor.
Shirley was born October 19, 1928 in St. Paul, MN to Frank and Marion (Hazel) Harvey.
Her family relocated to Manitowoc and she was a graduate of Lincoln High School. Following graduation she then moved to Sheboygan where she was employed at Sheboygan County Register of Deeds.
On December 6, 1957 Alfred and Shirley (Harvey) Boedecker were united in marriage.
Shirley was employed at Kohler Company where she was the first woman foreman in the service parts engine plant. She later was employed at Pranges in the personnel department until retirement in 1982.
She was a faithful member of Ebenezer United Church of Christ.
Shirley enjoyed reading, cooking, and gardening.
In addition to her husband, Alfred, Shirley is survived by one son, Richard (Kathleen) Boedecker of Howards Grove; one step-daughter, Marietta (Paul) Klauck of Sheboygan Falls; two grandchildren, Cari (Kevin) Gmach and Ryan (Fallon) Boedecker, all of Sheboygan; three step-grandchildren, Chad (Christine) Flipse of Sheboygan, Brad Flipse of San Diego, and Christine (Randy) Langer of Oak Creek; four great-grandchildren, Raven, Marranda, Justin Gmach, and Ava Boedecker; four step-great-grandchildren, Jada, Jessie, Michael, Nicholas, and Holly; sister-in-law, Francis Harvey of Sheboygan; nieces, relatives, and friends.
Shirley was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Burton and Truman Harvey.
A memorial service will be held at 6:00 PM on Friday, August 17, 2012 at Ballhorn Chapels. Rev. DuWayne Hanke, Hospice Advantage Chaplain, will officiate. A time of visitation and support will be held on Friday from 4:00 PM until the time of service. Burial will take place at Greenlawn Memorial Park at a later date.
A memorial fund has been established in Shirley's name.
