Shirley M. Werner, 82, dear wife of Leon, 1420 n. 26th St., died at St. Nicholas Hospital on Friday, October 28, 2011. She was stricken with an apparent heart attack earlier at her home. Shirley was born December 31, 1928 in Sheboygan to John and Eleanore Matelko. On August 30, 1958 Shirley and Leon Werner were united in marriage at St. Dominic Catholic Church. Shirley was formerly employed at Polar Ware, Kreskes and Evans stores, before becoming employed in the Dietary Dept. at Aurora Sheboygan Memorial Medical Center, where she worked from 1970 until her retirement in 1995. Shirley M. Werner, 82, dear wife of Leon, 1420 n. 26th St., died at St. Nicholas Hospital on Friday, October 28, 2011. She was stricken with an apparent heart attack earlier at her home.
Shirley was born December 31, 1928 in Sheboygan to John and Eleanore Matelko.
On August 30, 1958 Shirley and Leon Werner were united in marriage at St. Dominic Catholic Church.
Shirley was formerly employed at Polar Ware, Kreskes and Evans stores, before becoming employed in the Dietary Dept. at Aurora Sheboygan Memorial Medical Center, where she worked from 1970 until her retirement in 1995.
Mrs. Werner was a member of St. Dominic Parish.
In addition to her husband Leon, Shirley is survived by two children, Ronald (Cheryl) Werner of Sheboygan and Ann (Floyd) Spindler of Elkhart Lake, four grandchildren, Amanda and Christopher Schmidt, Jeremy Gile, and Ryan Rice; two great-grandsons, Christian and Mason; two brothers, John Matelko and Bob (Fran) Matelko of Sheboygan; a sister, Elaine Tetting; and other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, 11:00 A.M. at Ballhorn Funeral Chapels. Rev. Daniel Lasecki, officiate. Entombment will take place in Gardens of Peace Mausoleum. A time of visitation and support will be held at Ballhorn Chapels on Wednesday from 10:00 A.M. until the time of service.
A memorial fund has been established in her name for the .
Shirley will always be remembered as a devoted wife, mother and homemaker. She will be dearly missed.
