Sidney Paschal, age 85, and Billie Jean, age 83, Shelton passed away on December 15, 2014. Although the circumstances related to their passing was tragic, the family does find comfort knowing they are now at peace, together as they were during 64 years of blissful marriage, and free of the health issues which both endured during the last few years.

Paschal was born on January 16, 1929 in Abilene, Texas to Clyde and Edith (Rink) Shelton. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister Charlotte O'Neal.

Billie was born on June 26, 1931 in Austin, Texas to John "Dutch" and Ruby (Cox) Wier. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Robert Wier, sister-in-law Bobbie Wier, nephew Terry Wier and niece Lori Wier.

Paschal and Billie were married on November 24, 1950 and leave behind a loving family which includes Paschal's brother Ronnie (wife Peggy); Billie's brother Jimmy Wier (wife Marlene); three children, Sidney Jr. (wife Patty), Johnny (wife Debbie), and Brenda; three grandchildren, Sidney III (Trey) (wife Arlyne), Scott (wife Amanda), and Alyssa; three great grandchildren, Garrett, Connor and Addison; and numerous cousins, nephews and nieces.

Paschal and Billie were both employed for many years by and retired in 1989 from the University of Texas at Austin. Together they enjoyed a long and fulfilled retirement, traveling the US, attending church, and spending time with the family especially on the holidays when their home would nearly burst at the seams with love and visiting relatives. Billie volunteered at the church, enjoyed needle point and was a frequent attendee at Lady Longhorn basketball games. Sidney's passions included Longhorn Sports, fishing and obsessing over the farm in Manor.

Both will be remembered as loving, outgoing, and dearly respected members of their community. Anyone who met them would immediately feel as if they were part of the family.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, December 22, 2014, at Northwest Baptist Church, 6301 Woodrow Ave, Austin, Texas. A reception at the church will immediately follow the service.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Northwest Baptist Church-Billie and Paschal Shelton Memorial Fund.
