Mr. Taylor was born March 21, 1931, in Bruceville, Texas, the son of the late Sidney Augusta and Clara Belle (Appleby) Taylor where he attended school. On September 11, 1953, he married Mary Joyce Berrier in Eddy, Texas. Much of his life was spent as a boiler maker welder with power companies across the United States. This gave him the wonderful opportunities to travel throughout the United States prior to his 1994 retirement. He was a long time member of the Boiler Makers Union number 74 in Houston. After his retirement, he and Mary Joyce enjoyed traveling in their RV.

Also preceding him in death were two sisters, Jimmie Gent and Frances Simmons.

Survivors include his wife Mary Joyce Taylor; a son Rusty Taylor and wife Sandra of Rosharon; a daughter Trudy Brandon and husband Bill of Moody; a brother, Henry Lee Taylor and wife LaVerle of Bruceville; a brother-in-law, Tom Gent of Bruceville; a sister Clara Mae Wade of Bruceville; four grandchildren, Cody Brandon, Clint Brandon, Austin Taylor and (Kacee Jo), Casey Taylor and (Sarah); a special great grandson, Kade, many loving nieces and nephews.

Casketbearers will be Cody Brandon, Clint Brandon, Austin Taylor, Casey Taylor, Jake Taylor and Dustin Phelps.

"The type of husband every wife should have, the type of father every son should have and the type of daddy every daughter should have."

For those desiring, the family has suggested the Bruceville-Eddy Fire Department or A-MED Hospice, 8901 Emmett F. Lowry Expressway, Texas City, Texas 77591.
