Sneed Lary, Jr. passed away on April 12, 2012. Sneed was born in Memphis, Tennessee, February 12, 1934 to Sneed and Bea Lary. He grew up in Fort Worth, Texas and graduated from Arlington Heights High School in 1952. He graduated from the US Naval Academy in 1957 and after serving five years, he attended the University of Texas Business School. While in graduate school, he married Brenda Brants of Fort Worth. Sneed Lary, Jr. passed away on April 12, 2012. Sneed was born in Memphis, Tennessee, February 12, 1934 to Sneed and Bea Lary. He grew up in Fort Worth, Texas and graduated from Arlington Heights High School in 1952.

He graduated from the US Naval Academy in 1957 and after serving five years, he attended the University of Texas Business School. While in graduate school, he married Brenda Brants of Fort Worth. His first job out of school was with Prudential in New Orleans where they spent four fun filled years, returning to Texas in 1969.

Sneed was a long time banker with several different financial institutions in Houston and after retiring from banking, became a real estate agent with George Murray & Co.

He loved snow skiing, tennis, telling jokes, schnauzers, good wine and friends. He and Brenda loved hosting dinner parties and wine tastings at their home. He enjoyed the challenge of duplicate bridge and earned his Life Masters in bridge in 2008.

Sneed was a long time member of the Financial Executive Institute and served as treasurer of the Houston Area Parkinson's Society.

Sneed was preceded in death by his parents and his only brother, Sandy Lary. He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Brenda, his two children, Lizabeth Lary of Houston and Lance Lary of Aspen, Colorado as well as several cousins, nieces, nephews and numerous good friends.

A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, April 18, 2012 at 2:00pm in the chapel at Memorial Drive Presbyterian Church, 11612 Memorial Drive, Houston, Texas 77024. A reception after the service will be held at a location to be announced.

Honorary pallbearers are Steve Grant, Tom Hollingshead, Doyle Perkinson, Bob Stephens, Charlie Kent and Vaughn Miller.

The family would like to express its gratitude to U.T. Physicians and American Faith Home Health for the wonderful care they provided to Sneed; and a special thanks to Miranda Lewis for the care she provided over the past year.
