Stacy Lynn Bales passed away at her home in Austin, Texas, on October 25, 2010. She is preceded in death by her father, Larry Bales and stepfather Bill Dinsmore, both of Austin, Texas, and survived by her brother, David Bales, and mother, Virginia Dinsmore, both of Austin, Texas, her aunt and uncle, Nancy and David Holt, cousins Chris and Erika Pesek and Steven and Heather Burke, and grandmother Lila Bales, all of Austin; uncle William Craver of New York, aunt and uncle Jane and Garland Kennon of Houston, Texas, cousins Stephen, Jana and Matthew Kennon, of Austin; Diane, Stephen, Brian, Katie and David Shrull of Richardson, Texas, step brothers and sisters Denny Dinsmore, Denise Jenkins, and Cherise Bell of Austin, and many friends in Austin and Atlanta, Georgia.

Stacy was born in Austin, Texas, on July 29th, 1967, and lived most of her life there. She graduated from Southwestern University, in Women's Studies. She spent several years in Atlanta, Georgia, where she studied at the Yerkes Primate Center and where she worked as an IT Professional and website consultant for many years. Recently, Stacy moved back to Texas from Georgia to help her mother, and took excellent care of her. She was very proud of her homes in Atlanta, Pflugerville, and Austin, and dearly loved her animals Sniff, Skeeter, Simon, Spike, Screech and Storm.

Stacy enjoyed travelling, especially when history (Boston) or fishing was involved (Florida); she was a huge Longhorns fan, and with her brother, David, yearly burned their Aggie hex candle.

Stacy was a very special person, gentle in her soul, and always curious about the world around her. She loved books, especially those of her dad, Larry, who left an immense collection she reveled in reading. Stacy loved music and movies, the outdoors and family traditions.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers, please send donations to The Humane Society, 124 W Anderson Ln., Austin, TX 78752-1104.

There will be a Celebration of Life Service for Stacy at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, October 30, 2010, at the Cook-Walden/Chapel of the Hills Funeral Home on Anderson Mill Road.
