Stanley Farmer Obituary

Stanley Ray Farmer, 79, of Paris, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 13, 2017, at his home.

Services are scheduled for 10:00 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 16th, at Bright-Holland Funeral Home with Rev. Jerry McDowell officiating. A graveside service, with military rites, is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Saturday at Damascus Cemetery in Lindale. A formal visitation is not scheduled.

Mr. Farmer, the son of Stanley Lee & Clara Morrison Farmer, was born April 23, 1938, in Powderly.

His military career with the United States Air Force spanned twenty years before retiring as a Master Sergeant. Stanley then worked four years as a policeman for the City of Euless before beginning a career with General Dynamics, now Lockheed Martin, where he worked fourteen years before retiring.

He enjoyed traveling and loved all cars. He had raced cars, motorcycles and even raced snow mobiles in Alaska. Stanley was a private pilot. He loved the outdoors and fishing.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and his wife, Doris Sue Farmer, on Aug. 31, 2015.

Survivors include his children; Rhonada Pierson of Denver, CO, Kim Hart & husband Darrell of North Richland Hills, Stanley R. Farmer, Jr. & wife Miriam of Tulsa, OK, and Karen Farmer of Euless, step-children: Randy Cantrell & wife Lois of Ft. Worth, Carla Sharples of Kemah, Cathy Ogle & husband Charlie of Baton Rouge, LA and Sandra McNeill & husband Patrick of Corpus Christi, seven grandchildren, seven step-grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren and step-great grandchildren, brothers; Del Roy Farmer & wife Antonina, Duane Farmer & wife Martha, and Archie Farmer & wife Linda, his twin sister, Peggy Santerre, sisters, Dorothy Reed & husband Robert and Patricia Hodges & husband Ric along with numerous nieces & nephews and a host of friends.
