Stanley Adams Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Oct. 24, 2013.

Stanley D. Adams

1947 - 2013

Stanley Darrell Adams was born on June 30, 1947 to Joel S. Adams, Jr. and Jennie Rose (Clegg) Adams Presley in Pensacola, FL. Stan passed away on Tuesday, October 22, 2013.

Stan was preceded in death by his father, Joel S. Adams, Jr., brother, Benjamin Adams, and his loving canine pets Allie and Cisco. He is survived by his mother, Jennie; son, Chris Adams Brown (Rachel); three sisters, Linda Beaton, Rosie Medley, and Enid Merritt; one brother Joel S. Adams, III; two grandchildren, Zachary Stinson and Caitlyn Brown; numerous nieces and nephews.

Stan had many nick names: as a child he was called Lil Beaver and Hot Rod and later he was affectionately known by his family and friends as Scat Daddy and Stan the Man.

Stan graduated from Escambia High School in 1965. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy and was a Vietnam veteran. He returned to Pensacola and was a automotive and paint & body mechanic.

Stan was an avid race car fan and loved collecting and restoring cars. He was a loving father and grandfather. He will be missed by all his family and friends. His memory, sense of humor, and wisdom will not be forgotten.

With grateful hearts our family would like to send a special thanks to the Emerald Gardens staff for their loving care during his residence.

Visitation will be Tuesday, October 29th at 1 pm at Oak Lawn Funeral Home with services following at 2 pm. Graveside service to follow at Myrtle Grove United Methodist Cemetery. Oak Lawn Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements.
