We had the pleasure of knowing Mr Stan when we first came to Nalcrest. I always think of "STAN THE ROSE MAN" whenever I pass the Nalcrest Rose Garden.

Mr Stanley and Bernie have been such wonderful blessings to us, and we are so thankful to have known them the last 9 years. They were some of the first people we met when we moved from Springfield, IL to Nalcrest, FL in October, 2002. Mr Stanley and Bernie told us they were volunteers with the ministry of Child Evangelism Fellowship. We had been asking God to guide us to the ministry He wanted us to be a part of, and we both knew right away that this was the one. We have been working as volunteers with CEF, at the International Headquarters in Warrenton, MO, for about a month each year since, and Jean works with the internet ministry, www.wonderzone.com. Mr. Stanley planted and took care of flowers at CEF, and Bernie worked in the Mail Box Club, helping with the mailing of Bible Studies. At Nalcrest, Mr. Stanley took care of the rose garden, and, every day, took roses to people at 6 different places, including Bernie at the nursing home, where she still is. We visited them both once a week when they were both there. Then, we moved to Bradenton, FL, and visit once a month. Mr. Stanley tried to talk to us, but the words wouldn't come out, when we saw him in August, but he still looked at us and smiled his wonderful smile. When we visited Bernie Saturday, September 24, we saw the flowers and their wedding picture that had been in Mr. Stanley's room, and knew he had gone to be with God, which He was definitely ready to do. We will miss him so much, but will continue to visit and pray for Sweet Bernie. May God minister peace to all who knew and loved Mr. Stanley, especially to Bernie.
