Stanley Leitstein, 82 of Manchester, died on March 2, 2013, at Monmouth Medical Center, Long Branch surrounded by his family. "Stan" was born in Brooklyn to Louis and Lillian Epstein Leitstein, raised in Flatbush, Bensonhurst, and East New York. He served in the U.S. Army Security Agency then worked at Fort Monmouth. He was married to his beloved Dolores "Debby" Boss 62 years, raising their children in Ocean Township (Monmouth County). Stan was a 20+year member of the Wanamassa Fire Company & First Aid Squad where he served as Chief, Captain and an elected member of the Board of Fire Commissioners. He was Chancellor Commander of...
Stanley Leitstein, 82 of Manchester, died on March 2, 2013, at Monmouth Medical Center, Long Branch surrounded by his family.
"Stan" was born in Brooklyn to Louis and Lillian Epstein Leitstein, raised in Flatbush, Bensonhurst, and East New York. He served in the U.S. Army Security Agency then worked at Fort Monmouth. He was married to his beloved Dolores "Debby" Boss 62 years, raising their children in Ocean Township (Monmouth County). Stan was a 20+year member of the Wanamassa Fire Company & First Aid Squad where he served as Chief, Captain and an elected member of the Board of Fire Commissioners. He was Chancellor Commander of the Long Branch Knights of Pythias. He was a member of the Renaissance Men's Club, Jewish Heritage Club, Brooklyn Club and Congregation B'nai Israel in Toms River.
In addition to his parents he was pre-deceased by his loving brothers, Jack and Robert. Surviving are his wife, Debby; sisters Florence Slotnick of Albuquerque, NM, and Bernice Solomon of Tamarac, FL; daughters Linda Mango and husband Vincent of Howell, NJ; Diane Diedrich and husband Brian of Western Springs, IL; and Judith Small and husband, Richard, of Westport, CT; grandchildren Elissa and Andrea Mango; Benjamin, Danielle and Allison Diedrich; and Jeffrey and Samantha Small; and several nieces and nephews.
Bloomfield-Cooper Jewish Chapels, Ocean Twp. is in charge of arrangements.
